Worth E. Nance, 93 of Anderson died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016 at this residence after an extended illness.
Worth was born on Mar. 19, 1923 in Atlanta, IN and was the son of Claude and Bertha (Wilkins) Nance. On Nov. 20, 1946 he married Helen V. (Clendenin) Nance who preceded him in death on Jan. 25, 2012.
Worth was a long time member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church. He was retired from Delco Remy, Anderson.
During WWII, Worth enlisted in the United States Navy after his discharge from the Navy, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. where he was fighter pilot until the end of the war serving in the Asian Theater.
Surviving are his children, Eric (Stephanie) Nance, Mark Nance and Debi Nance, his sisters, Edna Brown, Margaret Collins and Lou Cathem Hauger. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Justin (Ashley) Nance, Jason (Alexis) Nance, Julie (Trevor) Fulk, Jonna (Tyler) Rosh, Bryan Nance and Jennifer (David) Williams, his great-grandchildren, Adley Grace Williams, Berkley Williams, Brantley Williams, Rex Henry Rosh, Adien Fulk, Isabelle Fulk, Braden Nance, Kamri Nance, Colton Nance, Madisyn Nance and Justin Nance, Jr.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Helen, a son, Douglas Nance, sister, Mary Whetstone, Alice McNamara, brothers Jasper Nance, Robert Nance and John Nance.
Funeral services will be Monday, Nov. 14, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church with Rev. Matt Boldizar officiating. Interment will follow in Anderson Memorial Park. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Memorials may be made to the Nance family to help provide a Thanksgiving Dinner for a family in need.
