Walter B. Keith, III of Alexandria peacefully passed from this life to his heavenly home on April 11, 2024, at Community Hospital in Anderson after a period of illness. He was born on March 31, 1950, in Anderson, Indiana to the late Walter B. and Vena L. Keith, Jr. He graduated from Madison Heights High School. Walter proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
A devoted member of the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church in Anderson, Walter actively participated in various church activities including singing in the choir, playing on the church softball team, and teaching Sunday School. He was known for his exceptional skills as an All Star Pitcher for the Madison Heights Baseball team and shared his passion for dance as a member of the Mid West Hayride Dancers.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Karen Keith, his children Kristin (Michael) Edwards, Brittany (Patrick) Wise, and Walter B. Keith, IV; his brother Ross (Debbi) Keith; five cherished grandchildren: Miles, Camden, Madeline, Abigail, and Sofia; along with several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Gwen Hartly.
A heartfelt Celebration of Life service to honor both Karen and Walter will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at 3:00 p.m.in Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church, 2604 N Scatterfield Rd, Anderson, IN 46012 with Pastors Matt Boldizsar and Gary Cook as Celebrants. Family and friends are invited to call at the church on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church at 2604 Scatterfield Rd., Anderson, Indiana 46012.
The family has entrusted Bud & Susan Whetsel of Whetsel Funeral and Cremation Services with the arrangements to care for Walter and support the Keith family during this time of loss.
