Ruth Harris

Ruth Ann (Harrison) Harris, a loving mother, dedicated social worker, and cherished friend, passed away on Friday, September 8, 2023, at Community Hospital in Anderson after bravely battling an extended illness. She was 60 years old.

Ruth was born in Anderson, Indiana, on July 6, 1963, to LeRoy and Janet (Neff) Harrison. On August 26, 1989, she married the love of her life, Tom L Harris, who sadly preceded her in death on January 26, 2018.

Throughout her life, Ruth's passion for helping others shone brightly as she served as a social worker at Hillcroft Services of Anderson, making a positive impact on countless lives.

Family meant the world to Ruth, and she found immense joy in spending time with her loved ones. She is survived by her children, Drake Harris, Ercia (Jacob) Fluhr, and Alexis Harris; her siblings, Tom (Kathy) Harrison, Robert Harrison, and Mary (Wayne) Everling; her cherished grandson, Kian Fluhr, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, LeRoy and Janet, her husband, Tom, her brother, Joe Harris, her sister, Carol Snead, and sister-in-law, Lori Harris.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Whetsel Funeral Service, Park Ave. Chapel, 1503 S Park Ave., Alexandria, IN. In consideration of family allergies, the family kindly requests no flowers be sent to the service.
