ALEXANDRIA: Ruby Maybell Corwin, 95 of Alexandria died Monday, July 6, 2020 in the Alexandria Care Center after an extended illness.
Ruby was born in Langley, AR on July 30, 1924 and was the daughter of Raleigh and Lona (Seals) York. On Oct. 13, 1973 she marred Russell Lee Corwin who preceded her in death on July 23, 2007.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Mary Sue Swift, her sisters, Jewel (Frances) Balser and Faye (Winfred) Mulllen; her grandchildren, Teresa (Ron Brady) Anderson, John (Andrea) Lundy, Patricia Buckingham and Jenifer (Paul) Sizelove. Also surviving are 11 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Russell Lee Corwin and brother, Hershel York.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 10, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in the IOOF Cemetery, Alexandria with Bud Whetsel officiating. Burial will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts be made the Professional Firefighters of Alexandria Local 1649 Flower Fund, 212 S. Harrison St., Alexandria, IN 46001 or in care of the funeral home.
