Roberta “Bobbie” N. Schuyler, 77 of Alexandria died Friday, November 14, 2014 at her residence after an extended illness.
Bobbie was born in Alexandria on July 23, 1937 and was the daughter of Robert and Nellie Belle (Alexander) White. On Aug. 5, 1955 she married Richard O. Schuyler.
She was retired, but had previously worked as a clerk for K-Mart in Anderson and Anderson True Value Hardware.
Bobbie was a faithful member of the Church of St. Mary’s, Alexandria where she volunteered in many of the church’s activities.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Michael (Susan Earls) Schuyler of Yorktown, Steve Schuyler of Las Vegas, NV. her daughter, Nancy (Rob) Wood of Muncie, her sister, Emily Smith of Sparta, TN. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Adam (Natalie) Schuyler, Ashley Schuyler, Nicholas (Stefanie) Schuyler, Christina Schuyler, Thomas Max Parr, Brittany (Michael) Gohl and Steven Schuyler and nine great-grandchildren and a God-son, Brent Blanton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Richard and her son Richard.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Church of St. Mary’s, 801 W Monroe St., Alexandria, IN with Fr. Dan Duff as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Park View Cemetery. Friends may call at Whetsel Funeral Service, Alexandria on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the St. Mary’s Building Fund, 801 W Monroe St., Alexandria, IN 46001 or in care of the funeral home.
