Roberta Durbin

Roberta Jane Durbin, 74 of Anderson died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2022, in Bethany Pointe Health Campus, Anderson after an extended illness.

Roberta was born in Elwood, IN on September 16, 1947 and was the daughter of Elmo and Betty (Brewer) Harris. On Aug. 27, 1967, she married Rex L Durbin who survives.

She was retired from Thompson Consumer Electronics (RCA) in Marion after 39 years of service.

Roberta was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Euchre Club. She enjoyed crocheting knitting and Quilting, cooking, and shopping and traveling.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 54 years, Rex L Durbin, her son, Matthew (Rachel) Durbin, her daughter in law, Amber Durbin; sisters, Geraldine Etchison, and Georgia (Jerry) Bassett. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Jayce and Brody Durbin, Randi (Felipe) Durbin, and Toni Thompson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Mark Durbin and a brother, Tom Harris.

A funeral service for Roberta will be held on Monday, March 7, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in Whetsel Funeral Service, Park Ave., Chapel, 1503 S Park Ave., Alexandria with Rev. Mick Brewer officiating. Burial will follow in Park View Cemetery, Alexandria. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts be made to the American Heart Association, 6500 Technology Center Drive, Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46278 or in care of the funeral home.

Bud and Susan Whetsel are honored and blessed to care for Roberta and to serve the Durbin family once again.
