Robert Wardwell

Robert Earl “Bob” Wardwell, 76 of Alexandria died Monday, Feb. 16, 2015 in Community Hospital, Anderson after an extended illness.
Bob was born on July 7, 1938 in Elwood Indiana and was the son of Harold and Gertrude (Bagley) Wardwell. On July 10, 1977 he married Vicki J (Hull) Wardwell in Alexandria, IN.
Bob was retired from the Continental Can Co. and Red Giant in Elwood, IN.
Bob was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather, he always enjoyed time spent with his family. Many family members as well as co-workers remember Bob as a mentor to them throught out the years.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Vicki Wardwell, sons: John A. Wardwell, Mitchell Wardwell, Murray Wardwell, Chris Frazee, Jeff (Quinette) Frazee, his brother Charles (Carolyn) Wardwell and sisters, Mary Jane Hess and Cora Hogan. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Cody, Danielle, Whitney, Taylor, Jessica, Jonathan, Jeffery, Sarah and Matthew, and great-grandchild, Emerson.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings.
A gathering of family and friends will be Friday, February 21, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Whetsel Funeral Service, 1503 S. Park Ave., Alexandria with cremation to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials are made to the Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital, 2001 West 86th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46260 or in care of the funeral home.
