Patricia Jean Landes

Patricia Jean Dyer-Landes, 98 of Alexandria went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 9, 2024, in the Alexandria Care Center after an extended illness.  

Pat was born on March 13, 1926, in Alexandria and was the daughter of James and Harriet E. (Tobey) Foley. She graduated from Alexandria High School in 1943. She later married her first husband, Harold “Peanut” Dyer on November 21, 1943, who preceded her in death on September 6, 1989.  Pat later married William Landes on April 20, 1995, he preceded her in death on August 11, 2003.

During her marriage to Harold, they lived in several different states due to his 25 year Navy career.  Pat was so very proud of their service to their country and always proud to show her patriotism.  

Though the years Pat held several jobs, but her favorite one was working in the Courtesy Booth at Cox’s Supermarket in Alexandria.

Pat leaves a wonderful legacy of faith to all who knew her.  She was an active member of the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher and led classes for young couples helping them in their faith and marriages. Pat was the founder of the Lunch Bunch Program at the church.  She was faithful to attend all the church services and activities. She always made it a point to meet and welcome new visitors and members to the church.

Pat was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. Her family was so important to her. She loved to spend time with her family and share with them her favorite time of the year which was Christmas.

Those she leaves her legacy of faith and love are her children. David (Jayne) Dyer and Tamra (Marlin) Gooding. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Amy (Jeff) Sells, Chad Dyer, Tobey (Stephanie) Gooding; her great-grandchildren, Chandler (Melody Hood) Sells, Taylor (Finance, Cody Ryan) Sells, Aleigh (Jeremiah) Sells-Jensen, Camden (Amber Reed) Gooding, Connor Gooding, Emily Gooding and Aidan Gooding and great-great-grandchildren, Henry Jensen, McKynleigh Jensen and Tucker James Ryan.

A service to celebrate Pat’s life will be held on Monday, June 17, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. in Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church, 2604 N Scatterfield Rd, Anderson, IN 46012 with Revs. Mike Biggs and Matther Boldizsar as Celebrants.  Interment will follow in the IOOF Cemetery, Alexandria.  Visitation will be Monday, June 17, 2024, at the church from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial gifts be directed to Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church, 2604 N Scatterfield Rd., Anderson, Indiana 46012 or in care of the funeral home.

Pat’s family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff of the Alexandria Care Center for their extraordinary care of their mother and grandmother.
