Murrell Ewing,100, former Alexandria resident died Monday, Feb. 2, 2015 in New Port Richey, FL after a brief illness.
Murrell was retired from Inland Fisher Guide in 1972 before moving to New Port Richey, FL where he owned and operated a roof painting business for 30 years.
Murrell served his country during WWII with the United States Army and was honorable discharged as a Master Sargent.
He was a charter member of the Eagles Lodge Arie 1771 in Alexandria.
Murrell was an avid boater and he loved to go dancing.
He is survived by his son, Jerry (Carol) Ewing of New Port Richey, FL, a grandson, Steven Ewing and granddaughter, Deanna Bayne, great-grandson, Kristopher Bayne and a niece, Linda Stapert.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Marybell Ewing and a daughter, Susan Bayne.
A memorial service will be held at later date at the convenience of the family.
