Mona Tankersley

Mona L. Tankersley, 61 of Alexandria died on Monday, Jan. 20, 2020 in Community Hospital, Anderson after a brief illness.

Mona was born in Anderson, IN on Feb. 3, 1958 and was the daughter of William and Ramona (Osborne) Gordon. She married to William Patrick Tankersley on Oct. 26, 1996; he preceded her in death in 2018.

Mona had been employed as a waitress and bartender in area fraternal lodges. She was a member of the Eagles Lodge Auxiliary, Alexandria.

Mona is survived by a daughter, Shelly Brewer; a sister, Cathy Gordon; two grandsons, Corbin and Colyn Greer and special friend, Ruth Ann Thomas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Pat Tankersley.

Funeral services for Mona will be held on Friday, Jan. 24, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. in Whetsel Funeral Service, Alexandria with Bud Whetsel officiating. Burial will follow in Vinson Memorial Park Cemetery, Summitville. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Friday, Jan. 24, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
