Mildred Tucker

July 17, 1931 — February 25, 2013

Mildred D. Tucker, 81 of Alexandria died Monday, Feb. 25, 2013 at her residence after an extended illness.
Mildred was born in Alexandria on July 17, 1931 and was the daughter of Ermal J. and Dolly (Barth) Allen. On Aug. 1, 1949 she married Charles Tucker who preceded her in death on Nov. 15, 2007.
She was a retired homemaker and she attended the Innisdale United Brethren in Christ Church and was a member of the AARP.
Mildred was an avid reader and always enjoyed going fishing with her family and friends.
She is survived by a son, Charles G. Tucker of Alexandria, a daughter, Karen (Tony) Fields of Alexandria, four brothers, Ermal Allen, Donald (Sue) Allen, Larry (Doris) Allen and Ralph (Jane) Allen, one sister, Roseanna Duffitt. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Jennifer Fields, Amy (Jack) Tucker-Wilson, Steven (Leah) Fields, Robert Tucker and Michelle (Clint) Tucker, three great-grandchildren, Kyrstin, Danielle and Robert Jr.
Funeral services will be Friday, Mar. 1, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in Whetsel Funeral Service with Rev. Terry Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Park View Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Innisdale United Brethren in Christ Church, 1101W. First St., Alexandria, IN 46001 or in care of the funeral home.
