Maudrey J. Cawthorn, 70 of Alexandria died Tuesday, August 13, 2024, in Community Hospital, Anderson after a brief illness.
Maudrey was born in Anderson, Indiana on October 20, 1953, and was the daughter of Robert L. Stohler, Sr. and Norma Jane (Porter) Lainhart. On August 10, 1990, she married Wendell Cawthorn, and they celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary just a few days before her death. She retired from Barber Manufacturing in Anderson, Indiana.
She was an avid fisherman and loved fishing with her husband Wendell, and she enjoyed crocheting.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Wendell, a son, Michael (Kelly) Moore, two daughters, Karrie (Jeremy) Grimes and Mandy Moore; her mother, Norma Jane Lainhart; two brothers, Robert L Stohler, II and Daniel (Kristie) Stohler. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Emily (Chavis) Little, Mikaela (Fiancée-Chris) Moore, Madisyn Grimes, and great-grandchildren, Cadian and Braycien, and several nieces and nephews. She will also be fondly missed by her precious puppy Otis.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert L. Stohler, Sr., a sister, Deborah Sailers, and Great-grandson, Oliver James Joseph Little.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in Whetsel Funeral Service, Park Ave: Chapel, 1503 South Park Ave., Alexandria with Bud Whetsel officiating. Interment will follow in Park View Cemetery, Alexandria. A visitation will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024, at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
