Martha Esther (Jarman) Overman, 72, died Thursday February 27, 2014 at her residence after an extended illness.
Martha was born in Alexandria on July 28, 1941 and was the daughter of Milo E. and Anna R. (Thurber) Jarman. On Feb. 2, 1963, she married Robert T. Overman, who preceded her in death on May 11, 2004.
Martha was retired from Cablec Wire Company.
Foremost, Martha was a Mother and Grammy whose love for her family and friends surpassed all. When she wasn't at her kitchen table entertaining one of her countless friends, she enjoyed being outside on her golf cart, feeding the birds, planting a garden, or fishing. With her contagious laugh and smile, she welcomed all her friends from all walks of life, at any time, day or night, to join her by the pond or at her table. Her capacity for unlimited love was what made her special and unforgettable.
Martha is survived by her daughter, Mindy (Troy) Reynolds of Newburgh, IN and her brother, Jerry Jarman, and sister, Mila Overman, both of Alexandria. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Erin (Danny) Summers, Megan Reynolds, Drew Overman and Mackenzie Reynolds, and one great-grandchild, Tucker Paul Summers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert T. Overman, son Dan Overman, and sisters Mae Sims, Millie Jarman, and Betty Jarman.
