Marsha D. Lisby, 71 of Alexandria died Tuesday, July 15, 2014 after an extended illness at her residence.
Marsha was born on June 19, 1943 in Clark, LA and was the daughter of James A. and Maude (Sellers) Majors. She was married to Gene Lisby who preceded her in death.
Marsha was a member of the VFW Post 1552 Auxiliary and the Alexandria Eagles Lodge 1771 Auxiliary in Alexandria. She was an avid reader, enjoyed solving crossword puzzles and love to play cards especially poker.
She is survived by her two daughters, Lori (Gary) Pratt and Rhonda Babcock brother of Alexandria, two brothers, Vernon (Rosetta) Beane and Larry (Diana) Beane both of Alexandria, a sister-in-law, Connie Majors of Chesterfield. Also surviving are five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Marsha was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two brothers, Mark R. Majors and Jimmie Majors and a sister Yvonne Williams.
A service to celebrate Marsha’s life will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in Whetsel Funeral Service, Alexandria with Rev. Rob Mifflin officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Cremation will follow the services. Interment of Ashes will be held at the convenience of family in IOOF Cemetery, Alexandria.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the Donor’s choosing.
