Marilyn R. King, 90 of Hobbs and formerly of Alexandria died on Thursday, Nov. 10, 2021, in IU North Hospital, Carmel after an extended illness.
Marilyn was born in Elwood on June 21, 1931 and was the daughter of John and Delight (Frazier) Stoker. She later married William E King on Nov. 22, 1950. He preceded her death on June 27, 2007.
She was retired from Indiana and Michigan Electric Co. Elwood where is worked for many years as a receptionist.
Marilyn was a member of the 49ers Club, the Women of Faith of Rock Prairie Church. She was avid bird watcher, she enjoyed crocheting and fishing with her family.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, son, David W. (Pam) King, daughter Phyllis King-Middleton. Also surviving are five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Marilyn is also survived by cousins, Kelly and Kevin Frazier and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William King, and brothers, Max Stoker and Jerry Stoker and a nephew Duane Stoker.
A service to celebrate Marilyn’s life will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2021, at 1:30 p.m. in Whetsel Funeral Service, Park Ave. Chapel, 1503 S Park Ave., Alexandria. Cremation will follow the service and burial of cremains will take place later in Park View Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
