Margie K. Dickson, 81, of Alexandria, Indiana, passed away on February 7, 2025, at Community Hospital following a brief illness. She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.
Born on September 30, 1943, in Kokomo, Indiana, Margie was the beloved daughter of Harley and Esther (Carnine) Pollitt. She found her true partner in Robert R. “Bob” Dickson, marrying him on May 28, 1967. Their love story was a testament to companionship and joy.
A proud graduate of Elida High School and the University of Findlay, Margie's dedication to education spanned over 30 years. She touched many lives as a teacher, guiding her students in math as well as girl’s physical education and health at the Alexandria-Monroe Community Schools. Her passion for nurturing the minds and bodies of young people left a lasting impact on her community.
Margie was a cherished member of the First Christian Church in Alexandria, where she participated in the Christian Women’s Fellowship, Art Circle, Alexandria Women’s Club, and Tri Kappa Sorority. Alongside Bob, she dedicated herself to volunteering at Community Hospital in Anderson, embodying her spirit of service and kindness.
She leaves behind her beloved children, Patricia Dickson and James (Allison) Dickson, who will carry her memory forward along with her treasured grandchildren: Andrew Dickson, Stella Grace Dickson, Madi Niswonger, and David Novak. Margie is also survived by her dear brother, Bobby Pollitt.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, her husband Bob, and her brother Ron Pollitt.
A co-celebration of the lives of Margie and Bob will take place on Friday, February 21, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of the First Christian Church, located at 215 W Berry St., Alexandria. Pastor Julia Bratton will officiate the service. A gathering of family and friends will precede the service from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Following the celebration, a private burial for both will occur at the IOOF Cemetery in Alexandria.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests memorial gifts to the Community Hospital Auxiliary, located at 1515 N Madison Ave., Anderson, IN 46011. Donation envelopes will be available at the church.
Margie's legacy of love, kindness, and dedication to her family and community will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
