Lucy M. Madden, 75 of Alexandria died Monday, July 29, 2013 in Seton Specialty Hospital, Indianapolis after an extended illness.
Lucy was born in Richmond, KY on July 28, 1938 and was the daughter of John and Nellie (Young) Griffith. On April 5, 1972 she married Paul Wayne Madden.
She was a retired CNA from St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital and a member of the Post 266 of the VFW Auxiliary, Anderson.
Survivors include her husband, P. Wayne Madden, two sons, Ernest (Becky) Smith and their children Amanda, Jennifer, Erik, Joseph, Matthew. Son, William (Rose) Smith and their child Emily, four daughters, Gina (Tim) Madden and their children Devin, Derick; Cathy (Jeff) Reynolds and their children Julie, Ronnie, Paul, Hannah, Morgan; Nola Sparks and her child Vicki, Charlotte (David) Crisp and their children David, Elizabeth, Liz, Mike, Sonny, Anna and Eddie’s children Marie and Michelle. A sister Mary Martin-Lexington, KY. Also surviving are several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Eddie Smith and a daughter, Vickie Smith.
Services will be on Friday, Aug. 2, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in Whetsel Funeral Service, Alexandria with Rev. Michael Deutsch officiating. Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery, Alexandria. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
