Linda Clegg

ALEXANDRIA: Linda L. “ Mocher” Clegg, 76 of Alexandria died Sunday, March 29, 2015 at her residence after an extended illness, in the company of her loving family.
Linda was born in Elwood, IN on Oct. 1, 1938 and was the daughter of Hugh and Nellie (McCreary) Parker. On Aug. 7, 1970 she married Larry R Clegg who preceded her in death in 2006.
Linda was homemaker. She was a loving and caring Mother and Grandmother and always enjoyed spending time with her family. She was an avid gardener, devoting a lot of time to her flowers. Linda loved to play cards and all kind of games, especially with her family.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughters, Thelma Munns, Debra (Frank) Ellis and Beverly (Butch) Zapfe all of Alexandria, her sons, Rich (Linda) Stafford, Terry (Tiffany) Clegg both of Alexandria and Greg (Rhonda) Clegg of LaGrange, GA., two sisters, Jean (Chuck) Shepard of Elwood, Vickie (Don) Clark of Shannon, MS, her brother, Bernie Parker of Elwood. Also surviving are 22 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren; and special friends, Gina Davis and Ernie Wallace.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Larry R. Clegg, a son, Phillip Stafford and her daughter, Linda Swick.
A service to celebrate Linda’s life will be Thursday, April 2, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in Whetsel Funeral Service, Alexandria with Rev. Jerry Young officiating. Burial will follow in Park View Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Alexandria-Monroe High School Athletic Fund, One Burden Ct., Alexandria, In 46001 or Christian Congregation Church, 11015 N 300 E, Alexandria, IN 46001 or in care of the funeral home.
