Leeondo Reed

Leeondo Ray “Skip” Reed, 86 of Alexandria died Sunday, October 27, 2013 at St. Vincent’s Anderson Regional Hospital after an extended illness.
Ray was born in Anderson on Jan. 1, 1927 and was the son of Leeondo and Geneva (Utterback) Reed. On Feb. 9, 1956 he married Betty (Bangle) Reed who preceded him in death on Mar. 3, 2004.
Ray served his country during WWII in the United States Army. He was retired from the Pendleton Correction Facility as a High Tower Guard.
Ray always enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren and his extended family of in-laws and the Phelps family.
Surviving is his son, Larry (Lisa) Reed of Alexandria, two grandchildren, Joseph Ray Reed and Kendra Lynn (Brandon Hinkle), two great-grandchildren, Baylee Stellwag and Brayson Ray Hinkle.. Also surviving are his sister-in-laws, Shirley Farmer of Alexandria, Connie (Roger) Thompson of Bradenton, FL and Linda (Curt) Greene of Ft. Wayne and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, two brothers, Jerry Reed, Sam Reed, four sisters, Alice Alex, Sandy Montgomery, Mandy Mitchell and Betty McCune.
Funeral services will be on Friday, Nov, 1, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in Whetsel Funeral Service, Alexandria with Rev. Raymond Garrett officiating. Burial will follow in Park View Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
