: L. Blanche Fisher, 80, of Alexandria died Sunday, September 27, 2015 in Community Northview Health Care, Anderson after an extended illness.
Blanche was born in Covington, KY (the greater Cincinnati area) on April 14, 1935 and was the daughter of Hugh Boyd Clark and Thelma Blanche (Clement) Clark. On July 2, 1955 she married William (Bill) Fisher.
Blanche was a longstanding member of the Orestes Christian Church and 53 Club of Alexandria High School. She was retired from Red Gold after 30 years of service.
Blanche is survived by her husband of 60 years, Bill, her son Dean A Fisher of Alexandria, her daughters, Connie Jaqua of Alexandria, Denise (John) Crawford and Lisa (Rodney) Rhodes both of Frankton, her sister, Carol (Carl) Corwin of Ohio, sisters-in-law, Nancy Clark of Ohio and Jackie Clark of Kentucky. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and several special friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Bob and Bill Clark.
Funeral services for Blanche will be Friday, Oct. 2, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in Whetsel Funeral Service, 1503 S Park Ave., Alexandria with Rev. Courtney Granger officiating. Burial will follow in Park View Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
The family request memorials are made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or in care of the funeral home.
