L. Paul Fields, 64 of Alexandria died Thursday, May 17, 2012 in Community Hospital after a sudden illness.
Paul was born in Louisville, KY on July 14, 1947 and was the son of Herbert R. and Ella B. (Fults) Fields. On Dec. 16, 2010 he married Connie Lee (McClintock) Fields.
Paul was a truck driver for over 30 years and retired from King Systems, Noblesville.
Paul was an accomplished musician and performer. He performed numerous times on the Grand Ole Opry. While performing with his first band, the Cardinals Band, he recorded and published several records. He also played with the Silver Hoof and Fields Bands. But one of his loves in life was to ride and go on road trips on his Harley.
Surviving Paul is his wife, Connie, two sons, Jack and Michael Fields both of Alexandria, a daughter, Sheena Fields-Stone of Anderson, a step-daughter, Maggie McClintock. A brother, Larry (Carrie) Fields of Louisville, KY and ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren with two more on the way. Also surviving is a host of close friends.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter, Strawberri Fields.
Funeral services will be on Monday, May 21, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in Whetsel Funeral Service, Alexandria with Rev. Doug Haneline officiating. Burial will follow in I.O.O. F. Cemetery, Alexandria. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Monday from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
