Kenneth R. Clark, 68 of Alexandria died Thursday, May 29, 2014 in St. Vincent-Mercy Hospital, Elwood.
Ken was born in Winchester, IN on September 26, 1945 and was the son of Kenneth and Henrietta (Sayre) Clark. On August 23, 1969 he married Sylvia (Willey) Clark.
Ken was graduate of Alexandria-Monroe High School. He then attended Tri-State University and was a graduate of Ball State University.
Ken owned and operated the Ken Clark Insurance Group since 1971. Through the years he was the recipient of numerous awards for life and property-casualty insurance sales. Ken was a great supporter of the Madison Co. 4-H and provided the Ken Clark Insurance 4-H Scholarship.
Ken always enjoyed a good round of golf and was an avid fisherman.
He was a member of the Church of St. Mary’s, Alexandria Elks Lodge 478, Alexandria Eagles Lodge and the Big I Association of Independent Insurance Agents.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 44years, Sylvia, three sons, Greg (Leslie) Clark of Alexandria, Jeff (Rebekah) Clark of Noblesville and Michael (Jacie) Clark of Muncie; a daughter, Holly (Patrick) Sedlak of Indianapolis, a brother, Daniel Clark of Louisville, KY. , his sisters, Diana Clark of Portland, Debra Searcy of Centerville, his step-mother, Nina Clark of Portland. Also surviving are his ten grandchildren, Jacob Clark, Allie Clark, Dylan Clark, Aidan Sedlak, Katelyn Sedlak, Sara Sedlak, Audrey Sedlak, Alaynah Clark, Madelyn Clark and Mollie Clark.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the Church of St. Mary’s, Alexandria with Fr. Chris Shocklee as Celebrant. Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery, Alexandria. Friends may call at Whetsel Funeral Service, Alexandria on Monday, June 2, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Rosary Service will take place at the funeral home on Monday at 7:30 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the St. Mary’s School, 820 W. Madison St., Alexandria, IN 46001 or in care of the funeral home.
