Karen Jo Keith, 67 of Alexandria, transitioned from this earthly life to her eternal home on Friday, April 12, 2024, at Community Hospital in Anderson after bravely battling a long illness.
Born in Anderson, Indiana on August 21, 1956, Karen was the cherished daughter of Jerry A Smith and Sue (Van Dyke) Garretson. On June 8, 1984, she found true love and shared her life with Walter B. Keith, III until his passing, just one day before her own journey's end.
Karen's faith was a cornerstone of her life as a devoted member of the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church in Anderson. She actively participated in the church's Missionettes Program, lent her voice to the choir, dedicated years to teaching Sunday School, offered support during Vacation Bible School sessions, and compassionately assisted with organizing funeral dinners. Karen was not only a proud graduate of Anderson High School but also held dear memories as a valued member of the Anderson Indians Marching Band.
Karen had been employed at the Rosenburg Foot Clinic, Anderson for several years as a Medical Assistant.
Left to hold dear the memory of Karen are her children: Walter B. Keith, IV, Kristin (Micheal) Edwards, and Brittany (Patrick) Wise. Her legacy further lives on through her beloved grandchildren: Miles, Camden, Madeline, Abigail, and Sofia; additionally survived by several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Karen now joins her parents and beloved husband Walter B. Keith, III in eternal peace.
A heartfelt Celebration of Life service to honor both Karen and Walter will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at 3:00 p.m.in Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church, 2604 N Scatterfield Rd, Anderson, IN 46012 with Pastors Matt Boldizsar and Gary Cook as Celebrants. Family and friends are invited to call at the church on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial gifts be directed to Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church, 2604 N Scatterfield Rd., Anderson, Indiana 46012.
