John Thomas “Tom” Muterspaugh, 58 of Anderson and former Alexandria resident died Wednesday, April 6, 2016 in St. Francis Health Hospital, Indiana polis after an extended illness.
Tom was born in Anderson on May 6, 1957 and was the son of Carl Muterspaugh and Nancy (Real) Denny. On June 5, 1992 he married Katherine (Haws) Muterspaugh.
He was retired from the Borders Book Store Distribution Center in Fishers.
Tom was an avid fisherman and was fan of NASCAR racing and had been active in 4-H activities
Survivors include his wife, Katherine, his parents, Carl (Peggy Mae) Muterspaugh and Nancy Denny, three daugthers, Christi (Justin Doll) Muterspaugh, Misti (Jason) King and Tamara (Cody McPhearson) Muterspaugh, a brother, Chris (Debbie) Denny, sister, Carla Lysher. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Lance Garman, Javon Bo King, Jaden DeWayne King, Juztin T Doll and special nieces Nikole Leonard and Karmia Haws.
He was preceded in death by his step-father, Melvin Denny and a brother, Ron Muterspaugh.
Funeral services will be on Monday, April 11, 2016 at 1:30 pm in Whetsel Funeral Service, Alexandria with Rev Charles Barker officiating. Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery, Alexandria. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, April 10, 2016 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Madison Co. 4-H Association, 16 E 9th St., Anderson, IN 46016 or in care of the funeral home.
