Joel L. Addison, 58 of Alexandria died on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at his residence after an extended illness while surrounded by his loving family.
Joel was the son of Max and Jean M. (Folgeman) Addison, born on January 15, 1966, in Washington, D.C.
Joel had been a self-employed carpenter and was the owner and operator of Addison & Son Construction, Alexandria.
Joel was an outdoorsman, he enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and he especially loved taking his grandchildren on fishing trips. But one of his greatest joys in life was riding his Harley Davison motorcycle.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Karen (McDaniel) Addison, his children, Amanda (Joaquin) Combs and Christopher Addison, his brothers, James Addison and David Gordon. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Brancen (Kenzee) Combs, Brayden (Allison Copeland) Combs, Brooklyn Combs and Brogan Combs, Autumn Tucker and great-grandchild, Colton Combs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Max and Jean Addison.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, January 13, 2025, at Whetsel Funeral Service, Park Ave. Chapel, 1503 S Park Ave., Alexandria from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Cremation will follow the gathering time.
