Jerry Lee Clabaugh, 68 of Alexandria died Monday at Community Hospital after an extended illness surrounded by his family.
Jerry was born in Elwood, IN on July 19, 1945 and was the son of William R. and Helen L. (Arbuckle) Clabaugh. On Nov. 5, 1966 he married Margaret A. “Peggy” Paskell.
Jerry retired after over 30 years of service to the Alexandria-Monroe School Corp. as a Mainitance Supervisor.
He was a member of the Church of St. Marys, Isaac Walton League, Alexandria Eagles Lodge 1771, and Alexander Bright Post 87 of the American Legion.
Jerry was a loving and caring Husband, Father and Grandfather and enjoyed spending his time with his family
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Margaret “Peggy” Clabaugh, sons, Bill (Sharon) Clabaugh, David W. (April) Clabaugh, daughters, Catherine Morgan, Julie (Mike) Phelps and Deborah Clabaugh, a sister, Joan (Ira) Sherman. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Zack Clabaugh, Trevor Clabaugh, Tim Huhn, Logan Clabaugh, Weslee Clabaugh, Maggie Phelps, Erica Phelps, Corbin Clabaugh, Justin Peek, Hayleigh Peek, Taveia DeMarco and great-grandchild, Dominic DeMarco and several nephews and his favorite companion, Molly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, twin brother, Larry Clabaugh, nephew, Robert Sherman and twin grandchildren, Brent and Brett Phelps.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014 in the Church of St. Marys, Alexandria 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Dan Duff and Fr. Phillip Haslinger as Celebrants. Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery, Alexandria. Friends are invited to call at Whetsel Funeral Service, Alexandria on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Rosary Service will be held on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
In Lieu of flowers, the requests memorials the St. Mary’s Building Fund in care of the funeral home.
