Janet M. “Jan” Lynch, 74 of Alexandria died Saturday, Mar. 16, 2019 in Community Hospital after a brief illness, in the company of her loving family.

Jan was born in Indianapolis, IN on Sept. 3, 1944 and was the daughter of Kenneth V. and Catherine E (Kizee) Jones.

Jan was retired from the City of Alexandria where she served as the elected Clerk-Treasurer for several years. Jan has been involved in several civic originations and projects through the years, because of your great love for Alexandria.

She was a member of the Church of St. Mary’s, Alexandria and the Daughters of Isabell.
She was a member of the Board of Directors of the St. Elizabeth –Coleman Pregnancy and Adoption Services.

Left to carry on her legacy of love are her children, Elizabeth (E.B) Hill, Nikki Barnum , Deborah Franks, Teresa Yoakum, Mike Lynch and Joe Lynch; a sister, Bonnie Larson. Also surviving are several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son-in-law, Bryon Barnum.

At Jan’s request, there will be a private family gathering held at a later date. There will be no public services.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials are sent the St. Elizabeth-Coleman Pregnancy and Adoption Services, 2500 Churchman Ave. Indianapolis, IN, 46203 or in care of the funeral home.
