James W. Mohler, 76 of Alexandria died Sunday, January 1, 2017 in the Alexandria Care Center after an extended illness.
Jim was born in Yorktown, IN on Aug. 7, 1940 and was the son of Charles and Nellie (Writtenhouse) Mohler. On Feb. 7, 1975 he married Marribelle (Ryan) Mohler who preceded him in death on May 13, 2001.
Jim was a retired truck driver for RTL Transportation in Gas City, IN. and was a member of the Teamsters Union.
Survivors include his sons, Monty (Jacinna) Salyers, Michael (Judy) Salyers, James W. Mohler,II, Michael (Deb) Mohler, daughters, Christy (Charlie) Wallace, Konny (Kenneth) Lane, Angela Thurston, brothers, Harlan (Carolyn) Mohler, Rick (Mary Ann) Mohler, sisters, Vickie (Ray) Findley, Wilma (Mike) Cope, Winola Goad. Also surviving are 34 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Marribelle, two daughters, five brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017 at 11:00 am in Whetsel Funeral Service, Alexandria with Rev. Dale Watson officiating. Burial will follow in Forrestville Cemetery in Boone Twp. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made the charity of the Donor’s choice.
