James Harry Edward Brenner, 61 of Alexandria died Monday, November 6, 2017 at his residence after a brief illness.
Jim was born on May 21, 1956 and was the son of James A and Margret (Williams) Brenner. On Dec. 15, 1979 he married Karen (Parker) Brenner who survives.
Jim was employed 37 years at General Motors-Marion. He was a member of the Church of St. Mary’s and Tack Room University.
He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He spent a great deal of time laughing; telling jokes and reminisces about the past. Jim particularly enjoyed talking through world issues at the local Johnson Farm tack room.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Karen, his children, Jimmie (Danielle) Brenner, Joe Brenner, Amanda (Chris) Tucker, Anna (Earnest) Abbott, his mother Margaret Brenner, sisters, Carol (Jim) Durgan, Susan (Joe) Nelson, and Joanne (Tony) Smith. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Jessica Brenner, Mason Brenner, Bridgette Tucker, Vivian Tucker, Mac Abbott and Adrin Abbott.
He was preceded in death by his father, James A Brenner and a sister, Linda D. Wilson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, Nov. 10, 2017 at 10:30 am in the Church of St. Mary’s, Alexandria. Burial will follow in Forestville Cemetery. Friends may call at Whetsel Funeral Service, Alexandria on Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials are made in Mass Offerings to the Church of St. Mary’s. Mass envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
