Harold Swaim

August 21, 1923 — February 14, 2012

Harold Paul Swaim, 88 of rural Boone Twp. died Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012 in Community Hospital after an extended illness.

Harold was born in Boone Twp. on Aug. 21, 1923 and was the son of Paul and Bertha (Groover) Swaim. On June 8, 1944 he married Delores (McMahan) Swaim.

Harold was a long time Boone Twp. farmer and truck driver. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Alexandria and Fairmount Lodge 635 of the F & AM. and the Teamsters Union.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of over 67 years, Delores Swaim, a Son, Kent Swain of Alexandria and a Daughter, Karen (Rick) Autrey of Elwood. A Sister, Donnis (John) Kirkpatrick of Alexandria. Also surviving are two Grandsons, Jeff Autrey of Noblesville and Brad (Naomi) Autrey of Greenfield.

Harold was preceded in death by his Parents, and Sister, Opal Watts and Brother-in-law, Arthur Watts.

Funeral services for Harold will be held on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in Whetsel Funeral Service, Alexandria with Rev. Gary Elston officiating. Burial will follow in Forrestville Cemetery, Boone Twp. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, Feb. 17, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Masonic Service will be at 7:30 p.m. on Friday conducted by Fairmount Lodge 635 of the F & AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made the Madison Co. 4-H Association, 16 E. 9th St., Anderson, IN 46016 or in care of the funeral home.
