Harold L Schott, 87 of Alexandria died Tuesday, March 29, 2016 while in the company of his loving family in Providence Health Care, Anderson after an extended illness.
Harold was born in Alexandria on March 1, 1929 and was the son of George A. and Helen (Feller) Schott. On Sept. 24, 1955 he married Gayle (Toney) Schott.
Harold retired from Delco Remy-Anderson after 38 years of service. He also was employed by Schott Construction for over 30 years.
Harold served his country during the Korean War in the United States Air Force as a military police officer.
Harold was a member of the Church of St. Mary’s in Alexandria.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife 60 years, Gayle, a son, Paul (Marcie) Schott, a daughter, Joan (Eddie) Clark and a sister, Agnes Bowen. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Steven (Shannon) Schott, Casey Schott, Josh ( Brittaney) Schott, Scott Brobst, Sydney Brobst, Skyler Brobst, Sophie Brobst, Bryson Schott, Brielle Schott, Jarod Ringer, Joshua Ringer and Brittney Clark, Great-grandchildren, Cassidy Knowling, Braden Schott, Liam Ringer, Jake Ringer, Valec Ringer, Noah Ringer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Gregory V. Schott, four brothers and five sisters.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, April 1, 2016 at Whetsel Funeral Service, Alexandria from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer Association, 50 E 91st. Street, Indianapolis, IN 46209-4830 or in care of the funeral home.
