Freda O. Crotinger, 88 of Alexandria went to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, Mar. 15, 2020 after an extended illness.
Freda was born in Alexandria on April 8, 1931 and was the daughter of David and Florence (DeVinney) Teague. She later Wally Stroup, who preceded her death on Sept. 29, 1971 and then married Ned Crotinger who preceded her death on Aug. 14, 2013.
She was a member of the Alexandria Community Church.
Freda was a loving mother and grandmother who always love spending time with her family; like her famous Sunday dinners at the house on Texas St. While living in the Bunker Hill area she was known as the neighborhood ice cream lady and she loved her Dr. Pepper. Because of her Christian faith and her love of Jesus, she was one of the sweetest and kind women on earth, always thinking of others and concerned about their lives.
Left to carry on her legacy of love are her children; Frank (Rebecca) Reynolds, Linda (Steve) Hilligoss, Nettie (Paul Sterling) Stroup, Bretta (Mike) Hull, Paula (Steve) Faircloth; her step-children; Larry (Edie) Crotinger, Tom Crotinger, Mark (Carol) Crotinger and Mildred (Jack) Bunyard, her brothers; Johnny (Evelyn) Teague, Benny (Claudia) Teague and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Wally Stroup, Ned Crotinger; daughter, Gloria Bright; brothers, David and Ed Teague and sister Ada Blockson.
Service arrangements for Freda have changed. Due the growing concerns in regard to the latest public health issues, the family has requested there be no public visitation or services. Freda’s services will be private for the immediate family only.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts are given to the Alexandria Community Church, 10963 N Walnut, Alexandria, IN 46001 or in care of the funeral home.
The family wants extend a special thank you to Freda’s caregiver, Devon Elliott and Alara Hospice for all the excellent care they gave to Freda.
The family requests if you are feeling ill please do not attend the service in accordance with the latest public health issues.
