Frances L Parnell, 77 of Alexandria died Thursday, October 13, 2016 at her residence after an extended illness, while surrounded by her loving family.
Frances was born in Denver, Indiana on Dec. 22, 1938 and was the daughter of Clyde and Edith (Fahl) Nelson. Frances was retired from Bob Evans Restaurant and was a member of the Alexandria Master Gardner’s Club.
Frances enjoyed gardening and all kinds of flowers.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Tim (Stacey) Parnell, Tony (LuAnn Brown) Parnell, Theresa Allen, Trina (Alan) Williams, Tammy (Randy Farmer) Buck, Michelle (Matt) Schott, her brothers, Larry Nelson and Ralph Nelson, Sisters, Barbra Summers, Juanita Wadman and Jane (Jerry) Ice. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren and companion Phil Young.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Donna Andrick and Esther McCallister.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in Whetsel Funeral Service, Alexandria with her son Tony Parnell as Celebrant. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Madison Co. Humane Society, 2219 Crystal St., Anderson, IN 46012 or in care of the funeral home.
