Ethel L. Garner, 94 of Alexandria was met by the Angels Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at her residence and now is rejoicing in Paradise with her Lord and Savior.
Ethel was born in Upland, IN on Sept. 13, 1922 and was the daughter of Arthur and Bertha (Lytle) Carmichael. On May 17, 1941 she married Floyd D. Garner who preceded her in death on Nov. 28, 2011.
She was a loving Mother and Grandmother and always enjoyed spending time with her family.
Ethel retired from Delco Remy in 1982 and was a member of the Main St. Wesleyan Church in Elwood.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Marcia (Dallis) Small, grandchildren, Shea (Susie) Mills, Danielle (Jimmy) Brenner, Chris (Sandra) Small and Rhonda (Mike) Hood. Also surviving are her great-grandchildren, Jessica Brenner, Mason Brenner, Brian (Lana) Greene, Tabitha (Alan) Milford, Morgan Brizendine and Alex Brizendine.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Floyd D. Garner and granddaughter, Bailey Greene.
Services will be Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in Whetsel Funeral Service, Alexandria with Revs. Ron Becker and Tim Becker officiating. Burial will follow in Jefferson Cemetery, Upland. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
