Dennis Fields

Dennis Duane Fields, 69 of Summitville died unexpectedly at his residence on Friday, Dec. 31, 2021.

Dennis was born in Edmonton, KY on June 26, 1952 and was the son of Lawrence R. and Maedelle G. (Hatcher) Fields. On June 26, 1971 her married Belinda Sue (Winstead) Fields. This past June they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. He was a 1970 graduate of Madison-Grant High School and he retired as a Corrections Officer from the Indiana Dept of Corrections after 11 years of service.

Dennis was a member of the First Baptist Church of Summitville where he served as Deacon. He volunteered at the Hope Center/ Food Pantry in Summitville. He also had been a member of the Summitville Fire and Police Departments.

He was an avid card player and enjoyed watching sports, fishing, he was foodie and enjoyed offering his time to help anyone who needed help. He was a loving husband and father and grandfather and always enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and going on road trips together.

Left to carry on his legacy of love is wife of 50 years, Belinda Sue Fields, his children, Lonnie Fields and Debra Archer. Also surviving is his granddaughter, Sarah and his dog Beau; his brothers, Ralph (Kay Morris) Fields and Rick Fields and his sister, Helen Wise.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Lonnie “Mick” Fields and a sister, Becky Myers.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Summitville, 700 E. Mills St., Summitville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Hope Center/Food Pantry of Summitville, P.O. Box 68, Summitville, IN 46070.
