Darrell Gooding

Darrell K Gooding, 76 of Alexandria died Thursday, Dec. 29, 2016 at the Alexandria Care Center surrounded by his family after an extended illness of Lewy Body Dementia..
Darrell was born in Alexandria on Dec. 28, 1940 and was the son of Arthur and Mary (Cade) Gooding. On July 30, 1960 he married Diana (Cleaver) Gooding. He was a 1959 graduate of Alexandria High School.
He was retired from skill trades at Delco Remy, Anderson. He was a member of the Church of St. Mary’s, Alexandria and the Knights of Columbus, Anderson. Darrell was a sports official for 25 years with Indiana High School Athletic Association.
Survivors include his wife, Diana, son, John (Lisa) Gooding of Monticello, daughters, Teresa (Michael) Bowman of Wautga, TX, Julia (Blake) Wilson of Indianapolis and Amy ( Curtis) Sigler of Pendleton, brothers, Marlin (Tamara) Gooding and Mark (Lorna) Gooding both of Alexandria, sisters, Susan Gooding of Anderson and Lisa Beeman of Oklahoma City, OK. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Mary Gooding.
A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017 in Whetsel Funeral Service, Alexandria from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. A Time of Sharing memories will take place at 4:00 pm. by members of Darrell’s family.

Foundation, 30 S Meridian St., Suite 200, Indianapolis, IN 46024 or the Lewy Body Dementia Association, 912 Killian Hill Rd. SW, Liburn, GA 30047 or in care of the funeral home.
