: Daniel L. “Danny” Bowers, 53 of Alexandria died Friday, February 9, 2018 at his residence after an extended illness.
Danny was born in Tipton on Aug. 20, 1964 and was the son of Elmer L. and Lenore (Horton) Bowers. He was formerly employed by the Indiana State Highway Dept.
Danny love his family and always enjoyed spending time with them. He was a talented and skilled woodworker and an avid fisherman and love to go boating.
Left to cherish his memory is his companion, Becky Jacobs, sons, Justin and Dereck Bowers, daughter, Brandy (Chris Douglas) Bowers, sisters, Beverly (John) Cox, Katrin (Carl) Brotherton, Janet Idlewine. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Lacie Bowers, Braiden Bowers, Lilli Johnson-Bowers and Dixie Croy.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Uriah Croy.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Whetsel Funeral Service, Alexandria.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Pete's Food Pantry, 309 W Washington St., Alexandria, IN 46001 or in care of the funeral home.
