CONSTANCE MURRAY WILSON GRACEFULLY ASCENDED TO HER HEAVENLY
HOME ON MAY 21,2014. SHE WAS SURROUNDED BY HER LOVING FAMILY IN THE
COMFORT OF HER OWN HOME. THE "8th STREET HA VEN" WAS THE HEART & HUB OF
ALL THEIR GATHERINGS FOR FIVE GENERATIONS.
BORN ON MARCH 6, 1923 IN PERTH, WESTERN AUSTRALIA, SHE WAS THE DAUGHTER
OF THE LATE MALCOLM & NELLIE MURRAY OF AUSTRALIA AND SISTER TO SEVEN
SIDLINGS ALL WHO REMAINED IN AUSTRALIA: JACK, FRANK, KATHLEEN, MADGE,
DOROTHY, GWEN, AND ALAN.
ON JULY 31, 1943 SHE MARRIED A YOUNG NAVAL OFFICER, ALFRED JENNINGS WILSON
FROM KENOVA, WEST VIRGINIA WHO WAS STATIONED IN AUSTRALIA DURING WWII.
WHEN THE NAVY LEFT FREMANTLE HARBOR AUSTRALIA IN 1944, SO DID THREE
HUNDRED AUSSI BRIDES!
CONSTANCE WAS A WONDERFUL HOMEMAKER, BELOVED MOTHER, GRANDMOTHER,
AND GREAT-GRANDMOTHER. WITH HER LILTING AUSTRALIAN ACCENT, SHE
INSTILLED HER AUSSI WAYS AND CULTURE INTO HER YANKEE FAMILY. HER HOME
WAS FILLED WITH BEAUTIFUL REMINDERS OF"THE LAND DOWN UNDER". PICTURES

AUSTRALIAN FLAG ADORNED EVERY ROOM. SHE WAS BLESSED TO RETURN HOME
TWICE WITH HER CHILDREN TO INTRODUCE THEM TO HER BELOVED AUSTRALIA AND
ALL THEIR AUSSI RELATIVES. SHE ALSO LOVED HOSTING HER BROTHERS WHEN THEY
TRAVELED TO THE USA.
SPENDING MOST OF HER LIFE IN ALEXANDRIA, INDIANA SHE WAS AN ACTIVE

MADE AT THE CLUBS BECAME SISTERS TO HER AND SHARED HER LIFE TO THE VERY
END. SHE LOVED YOU SO VERY MUCH LOIS AUSTIN, LOUISE COLLINS, AND BETTY
HUDSON. THE NEIGHBORS ON EAST 8TH STREET ALSO BECAME FAMILY TO HER. SHE
LOOKED FORWARD TO HER WEEKLY WALK TO TOWN WITH THE LATE ROSE COX AND
PUTTING THE TEA KETTLE ON TO SHARE A CUP WITH HER CONFIDANT DEANNIE
CARROLL. EVERYONE KNEW THEY WERE ALWAYS WELCOME ANY TIME OF DAY, FOR
ANY REASON TO SHARE A HOT CUP OF TEA. SHE CHERISHED HER DEAR NEIGHBORS,
BILL AND GLORIA GAITHER, FOR THEIR KINDNESS SHOWN TO THE ENTIRE FAMILY
DOWN THROUGH THE YEARS. THE WONDERFUL GIFTS OF MUSIC THEY SHARED
BROUGHT GREAT JOY AND PEACE THAT WILL KEEP ON BLESSING THE F AMIL Y FOR
MANY YEARS TO COME.
JUST A FEW OF HER FAVORITE THINGS THAT THE F AMIL Y WILL AL WAYS CHERISH
ARE: FAMILY BARBECUES, LUNCH DATES AT THE PIZZA HUT & CURVE INN, ANY KIND
OF SHRIMP FROM ANY RESTAURANT, HER SON-IN-LAW WOODY'S CHILI, HER
