Clarence Glotzbach

: Clarence E. “Ed” Glotzbach, 85 of Alexandria died Tuesday, October 11, 2016 in Community Hospital, Anderson after a brief illness.
Ed was born in Elwood, IN on June 14, 1931 and was the son of Raymond and Mildred (Buckles) Glotzbach. On May 26, 1951 he married Gertrude E (Gall) Glotzbach in Tipton, IN.
He was a member of the Church of St. Marys and he attended Frankton High School. Ed was retired after 31 years of service from Delco Remy in Anderson and served his community for 24 as a volunteer with the Alexandria Civil Defense.
Ed always enjoyed hunting, gardening and fishing at Mississinewa watching NASCAR and old western TV shows. Ed also enjoyed playing euchre with John and Emma Gall.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 65 years, Gert, his daughters, Kathy (Jim) Broyles and Donna (Iseral) Flatford, his grandchildren, Angela Jackson, Nathan Patz, Emily Patz, Derek Blue, Jacob Flatford and Mason Flatford, great-grandchildren, Julie Jackson, Gary Jackson, Kim Jackson, Vanessa Scott and great-great-granddaughter, Stephi Jackson. Also surviving are special cousins, Linda Ead and Paul Edward Glotzbach.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter and son-in-law, Joann and David Jordan and a son Francis Glotzbach.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016 at 10:00 am in the Church of St. Mary’s, 810 W Madison, Alexandria with Fr. Dan Duff as Celebrant. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery, Tipton. Friends may call at Whetsel Funeral Service, Alexandria on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday at the church one hour prior to the service. A Rosary Service will be held Friday at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials are made to the St. Mary’s Building Fund, 810 W Madison, Alexandria, IN 46001 or in care of the funeral home.
