Charles Christy “Jake” Jacobs, 65 of Alexandria died unexpectedly Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at his residence after sudden illness.
Chris was born in Anderson, Indiana on Dec. 14, 1950 and was the son of Charles W. and Twiligh J. (Ryall) Jacobs. He graduated from Alexandria-Monroe High School, Class of 1969 and served in the United States Army Reserves. On May 19, 1973 he married Cynthia M (Williams) Jacobs in Alexandria at the Church of St. Mary’s.
Chris retired from Guide Lamp as a dye setter in 2002.
Chris was a loving husband, father and grandfather who always enjoyed spending time with his family. He was avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed spending time with family and friends on the lake. Chris was also a big fan of the Indianapolis Colts and Indiana Univeristy Basketball.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 42 years, Cyndi, his mother, Twiligh J. Jacobs of Leesburg, FL, his sons, Dustin (Stephanie) Jacobs of Alexandria, Derek (Elsa) Jacobs of Pendleton, sisters, Lynn Ryan of Summitville, Becky Jacobs. Also surviving is his grandson, Brayden Jacobs and several nieces and nephews, special friends, Susie Kettery, Gary Beeman and Bruce Cage.
Chris was preceded in death by his father, Charles W Jacobs.
A service to celebrate Chris’s life will be held on Monday, Dec. 28, 2015 at 11:00 am in Whetsel Funeral Service, Alexandria with Bud Whetsel as Celebrant. Cremation will follow the services. A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday, Dec. 27, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the food bank of the Donor’s choice. Donation envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
