Catherine Marie Holford, 80 of Alexandria died Saturday, November 30, 2013 in St. Vincent-Mercy Hospital, Elwood after an extended illness.
Catherine was born on Sept. 7, 1933 in Alexandria and was the daughter of Ernest M. and Freda M (Street) Street. On May 2, 1953 she married Virgil A. Holford who preceded her death in 2001.
Catherine retired from Delco Remy –Anderson in 1988 after 35 years of service. She was a member of the IOOF-Rebecca Lodge of Anderson.
She is survived by her children, John Holford, Rick (Linda) Holford, Tony ( Lori Huggins) Holford and Greg ( Erin Campbell) Holford, two brothers, Merl (Velma) Street, Jr. and Jack (Marlene) Street, three sisters, Janice (David) Johnson, Judy Brena, JoAnne Osborne. Sister-in-law, Rosetta (Vernon) Beane, an aunt, Elsie Vannatta and special friend Alberta Lamb. Also surviving are several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Virgil A. Holford, son, Kenny (Pee Wee) Holford, sister, Mildred Kemper, three brothers, James, Richard and Joseph Holford, sister-in-law, Mary Sizelove, nephew, Terry Street and great-grandchild, Chandler Holford.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. in Whetsel Funeral Service with Rev. Randy Murphy officiating. Burial will follow in Park View Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
