Bonita Johnson

September 25, 1921 — January 30, 2012

Bonita D. “Bonnie” Johnson, 90 of Alexandria died Monday, Jan 30, 2012 in the Alexandria Care Center after an extended illness.

Bonnie was born in Marion, IN on Sept. 25, 1921 and was the daughter of Fred and Hattie (Russell) DeLong. On Mar. 20, 1942 she married Jimmie W. Johnson.

Bonnie was retired from Delco Remy of Anderson. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Alexandria and a former member of the Eastern Star. and the Omega Nu Tau Sorority and the UAW.

Bonnie is survived by her Son, Danny (Susie) Johnson and Daughter, Nancy Paddock both of Alexandria. Also surviving are four Grandchildren, Bobby (Tiffany) Paddock, Angela Baledge, Julie (John) Bivens, Joni (Chris) Allen. Nine Great-Grandchildren, Brenna Baledge, Aaron Baledge, Suzie Bivens, Brandon Key, Brittany Key, Colin Allen, Ryan Paddock, Larissa Paddock and Savannah Paddock, and three Great-Great-grandchildren, Jasper, Charleigh and Carter.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Jimmie W. Johnson, three Brothers, Donald DeLong, Nate DeLong, Wilford DeLong and a Grandson, Harry Johnson.

Funeral services will be held Sat., Feb. 4, 2012 in First Baptist Church of Alexandra at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Michael Deutsch officiating. Burial will follow in Park View Cemetery. Friends may call at Whetsel Funeral Service, Alexandria on Friday, Feb. 3, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the First Baptist Church or the Madison Co. Animal Shelter.
