Bobby E. Honeycutt, 73 of rural Summitville died on Friday, Aug. 2, 2019 at his residence after a sudden illness.
Bobby was born in Nashville, TN on Jan. 13, 1946 and was the son of Robert Lee and Angie C. (Neal) Honeycutt. He was a graduate of Alexandria-Monroe High School Class of 1964. He was retired from Vectren Energy, Anderson after 41 years of service.
He served his country during the Vietnam War serving with United States Navy.
Bobby was an outdoorsman, an avid fisherman, hunter, golfer and bowling. He volunteered to coach little league baseball in Orestes and Alexandria as well as Pee Wee Football. In earlier years he played semi-pro football with the Anderson Packers.
He was a loving father and grandfather and always enjoyed spending time with his family.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Paul (Michelle) Honeycutt and Joseph Honeycutt, a brother, Avert (Sharon) Honeycutt, sisters, Brenda (David) Lindley, Judy Vickery, Caroline (Virgil Hobbs) Johnson, Sheila (Tim Smith III) Wilbur. His granddaughters, Ashley and Ally Honeycutt. Also surviving are his special friends, Rita Wallace and Dave Carmack.
He was preceded in death by parents, sister, Sue Baysinger, and a nephew, Brock.
A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Whetsel Funeral Service, Alexandria. To conclude the gathering time, Military Rites will be provided by the Elwood VFW and the United States Navy.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the AMHS Athletic Fund, One Burden Ct., Alexandria, IN 46001 or in care of the funeral home.
