Bethel Pirkey

Bethel E. Pirkey, 87 of Alexandria died Wednesday, June 12, 2013 in the Alexandria Care Center after a sudden illness.
Bethel was born on June 13, 1925 in Okmulgee, OK and was the son of Rev. James and Fannie M. (Yates) Pirkey.
Bethel was retired from the Sanitation Dept. for the City of Alexandria.
He had been a member of the Alexandria Church of God and Region Six volunteer for the Meals on Wheels program.
Survivors include his Brother, Norman Pirkey of Hudson, FL and a Sister, Jerry (Bill) Tuite of Alexandria. Also surviving are several Nieces and Nephews.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, a Brother, Rev. Jerald Pirkey, a Sister, and Lura Doran.
Services will be on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Whetsel Funeral Service, Alexandria with Rev. John Albright officiating. Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery, Alexandria. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, June 14, 203 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
