Ann F. (Shea) Barrett, 95, of Alexandria, finished her earthly race on Dec. 31, 2016 in Ft. Wayne with her loving family by her side.
Born in Pouch Cove, Newfoundland, Canada, as one of 15 children, Ann moved to Brooklyn, New York as a teenager. She moved to Indiana and married Steve Barrett of Wabash, who preceded her in death. Together, Ann and Steve raised seven children in Alexandria, Indiana: Mary Blaettner, Nondus (Vince) Carr, Margie Barrett, Stephen (Kim) Barrett, Joseph (Susan) Barrett, Nora Webber, and John Barrett. Ann is survived by all of her children, as well as 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Nora (Shea) and Bernard Barrett, of Alexandria.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Jan. 6, 2017at 11:00 am at the Church of St. Mary’s in Alexandria, Indiana, with calling one hour before mass. There will be a reception following mass in Zimmer Hall of St. Mary’s, where Ann worked for years in the kitchen.
