Amelda Grant

Amelda June Grant, 103 of Anderson passed peacefully to Heaven on March 28, 2017 in St. Vincent’s Anderson Regional Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born in Anderson on Nov. 21, 1913 and was one of six siblings of William and Sarah (Jackson) Mattingly. On Aug. 20, 1938 she married Norman Errol Grant, Sr. who preceded her in death in 2008. She was a 1932 graduate of Anderson High School and an avid lifelong Anderson Indian fan.
Amelda was a home maker and a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who always enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was an active member of the Meadowbrook Baptist Church for over 70 years.
She is survived by her son, Norman Errol (Carolyn) Grant, Jr., two granddaughters, Shelly A. Shryock and Tricia L. (Craig) Bousman, great-grandchildren, Joshua and Austin Shryock, Morgan and Lexie Bousman. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Norman E Grant, Sr. and her granddaughter, Stacy Lee Glass and five siblings.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the Meadowbrook Baptist Church, 119 E 36th St., Anderson, IN with Rev. Dennis Zirkle officiating. Interment will follow in Anderson Memorial Park. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
